Lord God, You created a balance between the day and the night, reflected in our need for both activity and rest. I come to you now because I am having a hard time sleeping through the night. I am weary from not getting my proper rest, and worried because I need a good, deep, sleep in order to function at my best, as You know O Lord.
Dearest Father, Jesus invited us to come to Him, and he would give us rest. I come to You now, Father of compassion, confident in Your Word in Psalm 4:9 "In peace I shall both lie down and sleep, / for You alone, Lord, make me secure."
O Lord, |I praise You as my Father, who know me and all my thoughts. I confess I have allowed feelings of fears and worry, due to relationships, finances, family problems, employment difficulties, work difficulties, etc., to occupy my mind. Yet You tell us that we are to walk in faith, to believe in you, and to trust in You. Your servant St. Peter wrote in his Epistle, "Cast all your worries upon Him because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7.
Dear Heavenly Father, I purpose to get proper nutrition, exercise, and professional counsel if needed. When I cannot sleep, I will think of You and pray to You. I will praise you in the night hours, and honor You as the One who cares for me. Most of all, I trust in You, that you will soon restore to me Your gift of a restful sleep. In Jesus' name, Amen.
When you lie down, you need not be afraid, when you rest, your sleep will be sweet - - Proverbs 3:24
